LITTLE KAITERITERI – REFERENCE
It was our lucky day when, at the suggestion of Jennifer’s brother, we had a tour of the Skillicorn’s beautiful home in Kaiteriteri. The tour finished with Bert and Elsie not only recommending their builder, Jason Frater, but Bert phoning him then and there and setting up an appointment to meet us. We were struck by Elsie’s statement that ‘Jason was the same calm, capable person at the start of their project as he was at the finish!’ This proved true for us too and we have been so delighted with everything about our holiday bach, constructed on a difficult site in Dumont Place, Little Kaiteriteri.
We wanted a builder who would be predominately ‘on site’ and would take charge of the construction process, use initiative, but work closely with us, despite our home base being Dunedin. Finishing the complete job inside and out with outdoor shower area, terraces, lawns and garden areas was also important to us. The photos are the proof but our visitors’ book is also full of great comments from friends and family, with whom, even in a short time, we have been able to share our beautiful home and environment.
Jason’s work site was always well organised, with health and safety paramount. It was obvious that the team had a knowledgeable, well-respected leader who supervised closely to ensure a meticulous standard was achieved. Workflow continued with little interruption with his excellent forward planning and by using sub-contractors in whom he had confidence.
Clear accounting practices were also important to us and we chose to pay on a monthly basis for materials used and labour employed. The accounts had original invoices attached to Rebecca’s comprehensive summary. We preferred to pay in this way rather than having a fixed price, largely due to the number of uncertainties in building on our site. The prior estimate we obtained from a quantity surveyor didn’t actually cover any of the ‘below’ ground-work – which was considerable!
Jason Frater has become more than a superb builder who takes true pride in his work – he has become a good friend. Even though the house is finished, we are still able to enlist Jason’s services for the small projects that arise.
We love our Little Kaiteriteri home and all our visitors can’t help but notice the attention to detail that is indicative of an excellent builder. We wish Jason could build every house we have the privilege to build! We recommend he builds yours!

DEHRA DOON HOME – REFERENCE
“I’ve worked with Jason Frater since May 2000 when he was the leading-hand building our new Packhouse. The following year Jason decided to go out on his own when his boss retired. He approached me asking if I’d consider giving him any building jobs, big or small. So we got Jason to build some shelves in our storeroom.
That was the first of many building jobs Jason has completed for us. From the smallest jobs to building me a new house, workshop, large concrete areas, renovating bathrooms, new deck, Jason Frater Builders has completed them all in the timeframe I’ve wanted and on or often under budget. What I particularly like about Jason is he’ll look at a job and then tell us how we can save money by doing it another way without compromising on quality. And every job is a quality build. He stands behind his craftsmanship and that’s important today when there are other builders around who walk away and try and blame others for their own mistakes. Not Jason Frater.
I’ve recommended Jason to several friends and they’ve been equally happy with the results. That’s why I tell anyone who asks – if you want the best builder in Motueka, go and see Jason Frater Builders.”

FAIR HILL – TESTIMONIAL
The communication and rapport between ourselves and Jason Frater Builders was always positive and friendly and the quality of the workmanship was consistently of a very high standard. They continually strived in a conscientious manner to give the results we were looking for. With Jason’s invaluable practical knowledge and expertise we were able to work through some of the challenges of installing the roof including liaising with the sub contractors to bring this part of the project to a successful conclusion.

KAITERITERI – TESTIMONIAL
The quality of Jason Frater’s work was of the highest degree possible, delivering exactly the results my wife and I wanted. There were a range of particular issues in building our home which Jason in liaison with our architect dealt with, no problems at all. He kept us fully informed throughout the total process with the job finished on time and at no extra cost.

MOTUEKA – THANK YOU LETTER
Hi Jason,
After almost a decade of having had you do work for me I thought it was about time that I expressed a very big THANK YOU. The variety of projects you have completed for me have involved large and small interior alterations , fencing, landscaping structures and more recently the covered storage for my fire wood. Even a base on which to place my old aviary was not too much trouble for you. I make mention of these things because I am greatly appreciative of the fact that the little projects are often equally as important as the big ones, to my creature comforts. Above all your integrity, willingness to listen and complete work to a high standard at a pre arranged price has always resulted in a successful project. Please accept my very best wishes for the future of your business.
Regards
