Rebecca and Jason Frater
Welcome to Jason Frater Builders.
Building beautiful homes and creative spaces throughout the Nelson and Tasman region.
We are passionate about building, we are forward thinking and well skilled in all areas of construction. We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional level of workmanship in everything we do.
Specialising in providing excellent solutions when the location or geographic terrain is particularly challenging.
FROM BEGINNING TO END
We like to establish a great rapport with the client from the very beginning. This makes the whole process together enjoyable and makes the communication easy with each other throughout the entirety of the project.
If required we can help with the selection of an architect that aligns with the clients vision and the project environment. We enjoy working alongside the client in both a project management role and an onsite ‘hands on’ role to ensure that every aspect is carried out to the required standards, and the highest quality.
Each project is carried out with care and integrity. Having built trusted connections over many years with sub-contractors, suppliers and architects in the area ensures a solid working relationship.
In addition to creating beautiful homes, we specialise in the restoration of heritage farm buildings.
QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED
Jason is a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) and a member of the Certified Builders Association of New Zealand ensuring he is fully trade qualified. Being involved in the building industry for 40 years, and having owned his own company for the last 25 years, Jason brings both experience and a breadth of industry knowledge to each project he undertakes.
We wanted a builder who would be predominately ‘on site’ and would take charge of the construction process, use initiative, but work closely with us, despite our home base being Dunedin. Finishing the complete job inside and out with outdoor shower area, terraces, lawns and garden areas was also important to us.
Jason’s work site was always well organised, with health and safety paramount. It was obvious that the team had a knowledgeable, well-respected leader who supervised closely to ensure a meticulous standard was achieved. Workflow continued with little interruption with his excellent forward planning and by using sub-contractors in whom he had confidence.
